Discover The Abundance Of Spring Wild Foods On A Food Safari Foraging Course

Foraging for wild food is fun and its free! But you do need to follow some simple rules to identify and pick things safely. It is often a good idea to start by going out with an experienced forager.
 

Food Safari offers wild food foraging courses in Suffolk, Cambridge, London and Derbyshire. You can choose from a full day courses combining a guided foray with a hands-on cookery workshop or just a short introduction to foraging.
 

In Derbyshire we are working with Seasoned cookery school to offer a guided foray around the grounds of the Catton Hall Estate, near Lichfield on Tuesday 9 April.You will learn identification tips and how to forage safely and sustainably. We will find the first foods of spring – lime and beech leaves, rosebay willowherb, sorrel, hedge garlic and hawthorn blossom. We’ll then learn how to cook these delicious ingredients and prepare a foragers’ feast.
 

Urban Foraging in a Day is a unique course in London revealing the abundance of delicious and unusual wild foods growing in the city combined with a hands-on cookery workshop and delicious wild food lunch. The course runs in June and September.
 

Brand new for 2013 we are offering a series of short introductions to wild food foraging, A Taste of the Wild runs in May, August and October in North London, Cambridge and Suffolk. These morning forays are a great way to discover the abundance wild greens, nuts and fruits growing on your doorstep. In October the focus will be wild mushrooms.

A full day of wild food foraging and learning to cook with wild food.
