Pre & Post Natal Alfalfa Co Milk Tonic Tincture - The Organic Pharmacy

With so many women struggling these days to breast feed, and going on to formula so soon, it's important to know that there are things you can try to avoid giving up immediately.

There are many reasons why problems with breastfeeding can occur after your child is born. If you had a tricky birth with lots of intervention, this more than likely means that you were given various medications and, also had to deal with an enormous amount of stress.   This stress also affects your milk supply and if your body is busy dealing with recovery from such a traumatic event, then it may mean that you perhaps feel that you can't breastfeed because your body is giving you signs that there is a problem.

Sometimes people have trouble with baby latching on too, which is another problem altogether and not something I am covering here.  But, what I can suggest for the milk supply problem is to try taking this wonderful and effective tonic by the Organic Pharmacy which has been a godsend for me.

I didn't have trouble feeding in the beginning but about a month ago, my milk supply really dropped. It also coincided with me running out of a certain multivitamin liquid I had been taking.

I was talking to my friend Savannah Alalia, about how concerned I was with my milk dropping and she mentioned that many of her clients had raved about the Organic Pharmacy's Alfalfa tonic which had very fast acting benefits.

I have always loved the Organic Pharmacy, it's like the cream of the crop in regards to luxury organic skin care and I have also heard wonderful things about their beauty treatments.  I had not however used any of their supplements.

This global company has really grown in a massive way in the last 10 years and has become very famous, yet the owner/founder actually answered my emails and gave me some advice. I was quite shocked and impressed that the way the company is run (and customer care) is still very much looked after by the owners! This is so rare these days!

Anyway! Margo kindly sent me some Alfalfa tonic to test out.  This tonic is full of organic ingredients and helps to support the liver as it contains Milk Thistle (wonderful for detoxing!) and contains Alfalfa and Oats which both are very helpful for increasing the milk supply.

You add about 10-15 drops to juice (or water) 2 x a day.  You can notice results in a couple of days like I did.  It really is impressive stuff and I would suggest to ALL pregnant mums to start taking it through your pregnancy or at least around/before your due date so that if things don't go to plan and you do go through a bit of stress, this will help your milk to not suffer.

Encouraging mums to breastfeed is very close to my heart, its so important we give our kids the best start in life and not go straight to formula if we can avoid it. I hear so many mums say they could not breastfeed and I am sure that for some yes this is true but I doubt this is true for all. If it is to do with milk supply then trying supplements like this tonic is a really great idea.

If you do have to use formula though please please please, research the ones you are going to give your precious baby! So many are full of junk, heavy metals (from the pesticides used in the non organic ingredients!) and some contain Genetically modified ingredients. It's a crime how some formula is made and mums have to be a bit more diligent at finding out what really is the best. Dont just listen to the ones the hospital recommends or the baby magazines recommend either. They are most of the time, not the best at all.

If I had to feed Lola with formula these are the two that I think would be the best I could find:

Nanny Care Goat Milk

Holle http://www.holle.ch/english/Produkte/Milchnahrung1.htm which is an organic and biodynamic infant formula.  Impressive ingredients and quality. There is a goatsmilk formula too for kids that are over 6 months.

These two are for a last resort, please try to breastfeed your baby before you give up. It's so much better for their health!
