The average woman needs one year to recover after childbirth[1], which may be news to mums-to-be who believe it takes six weeks to feel 'normal' again. And this would probably have come as a shock to 7 out 10 recently surveyed new mums, as only 31% confessed to feeling very knowledgeable about post-natal recovery prior to childbirth[2].
