Be A Sustainable Consumer – Shop the Frog!

The Rainforest Alliance is pleased to announce the launch of Shop the Frog, a new, easy-to-navigate, consumer directory of Rainforest Alliance CertifiedTM products available around the world. In addition to helping conscientious consumers locate sustainably produced goods that support a healthy environment and good conditions for workers, families and communities, this new database will increase exposure of the Rainforest Alliance Certified green frog seal while enabling companies that carry and sell certified products to expand their market reach.

Exclusively featuring Rainforest Alliance Certified products, Shop the Frog features more than 300 brand names, retail locations, and online retailers. Consumers can search by country, product type (i.e. Food & Beverages, Home & Office Products, Building Materials etc.) and product type (i.e. Coffee, Furniture, Paper, Health & Beauty etc.). Search results link to individual company profile pages that feature the company’s logo, website, a list of their certified products, countries where the products are sold, and if available, a link to the company’s store locator page and online store.

Shop the Frog also includes a “Frog Spotting” slideshow, featuring pictures of the green frog seal taken by shoppers in stores with their smart phones. Shoppers can either join the "Frog Spotting" group on FlickR to share their photos or post them on the Rainforest Alliance's Facebook and Twitter accounts.

Recent additions to the portfolio of products carrying the Rainforest Alliance Certified seal in the UK include Magnum Ghana and Magnum Ecuador. The ice-cream brand has committed to sourcing 100% of its total global cocoa supply from Rainforest Alliance Certified™ farms by 2015.

Shop the Frog is updated on a regular basis, providing consumers with a comprehensive listing of Rainforest Alliance Certified products worldwide.

The Rainforest Alliance works with people whose livelihoods depend on the land, helping them transform the way they grow food, harvest wood and host travellers. From large multinational corporations to small, community-based cooperatives, businesses and consumers worldwide are involved in the Rainforest Alliance’s efforts to bring responsibly produced goods and services to a global marketplace where the demand for sustainability is growing steadily.
