Hypnobirthing Course @ Heavens Gate with Karen Mander Featured

How to get yourself in the zone for a calm and relaxing birth

It’s so funny how things work out sometimes. Ever since I knew I was pregnant I have been on the look out for a hypnobirthing course to do. The one I had my eye on was booked by the time we could pay for it, so last week I was madly looking around for another one – most were all booked up as well and I was worried I wouldn’t be able to do one till January which would not leave me with the time I felt I needed.

“I have seen HypnoBirthing® transform birth from a fearful to a calm, relaxed and joyous experience. All couples should benefit from this wonderful teaching.”

I came across Karen Mander from Heaven’s Gate and found that there were 2 extra spaces left for the weekend just past.  My  hubby and I, relieved that we could do a course, booked ourselves in and made our way over to Earth Life near Kew Bridge, Surrey which is where Karen holds her weekend classes.

Earth Life Well Being and Fitness centre

Earth Life is a lovely well being centre, underneath Kew Bridge. The room we had was nice and bright, airy and clean and had a calming atmosphere. We had chairs to sit on and also yoga mats to lie on when we were doing our relaxation exercises.  Some of us brought our own pillows (highly recommended).

The classes start at 10.30 so perfect for not having to get up so early – pregnancy can be very tiring so it’s nice not to have to rush. They end on both days around 4pm with breaks in between.

We all felt very welcomed immediately and the other couples were so nice and on a similar wavelength to us – in fact it’s a great way to make new friends through doing one of these courses as you all seem to have a common interest, and that is having a baby in a safe and calm environment, due to the mother and father learning techniques to basically eliminate fears around the birth.

We have all seen the movies and tv shows the depict mothers screaming and being in intense pain, but results are now showing, that it doesn’t have to be that way. We have been conditioned to believe that labour = pain – which it can be, if you don’t know how to breathe and relax and calm your mind and body. Read more
