What Did I just feed my child??

What mother and activist Robyn O’Brien wants is simple: information. Because information can be the difference between a healthy kid and a sick one

That’s why Robyn started to pay more attention to ingredient lists, and why she’s one of many sharing their story in this new video. (see below)

Yet the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) won’t let you, or Robyn, or millions of people just like her, make informed consumer choices at the grocery store because current policy doesn’t require that genetically engineered foods be labeled. And while the verdict is still out on the impact of these ingredients, we should be able to decide for ourselves.

Click here to watch a video featuring the stories of Robyn, Heather and Jason Donatini, and Louann Clark. Then contact the FDA to ask them to support the mandatory labeling of genetically engineered foods.

What many people do not know is that over 80% of crops like corn and soy are genetically engineered. We eat these common foods day in and day out without realizing what we’re putting into our bodies.

About Robyn:

A former financial and food industry analyst, author, Fulbright grant recipient and mother of four, Robyn O’Brien brings compassion, insight and detailed analysis to her research on the health of the American families and its food system. She has been called "food's Erin Brockovich" by the New York Times.

Recruited by institutions like Enron and following her career as an analyst, Robyn had four children and founded the visionary organization, www.allergykidsfoundation.org, which is focused on restoring the  health of American families by addressing the needs of the 1 in 3 American children that now has allergies, autism, ADHD and asthma.

On Mother’s Day 2009, Random House published her acclaimed book, "The Unhealthy Truth: How Our Food Is Making Us Sick and What We Can Do About It" and today, Robyn is regarded as a health expert and sought after speaker who lectures extensively, appearing on national broadcasts that include CNN, ABC's Good Morning America and NBC's The Today Show.

She has written pieces for the Washington Post, Martha Stewart’s Whole Living and other media. She has been named by SHAPE Magazine as one of 2009’s “Women To Shape the World”, along with First Lady Michelle Obama, was named by Forbes Woman as one of “20 Inspiring Women to Follow on Twitter,” and The Discovery Channel named her one of its 15 Top Visionaries. Her TEDx talk delivered in Austin has been widely received.

Robyn earned an MBA on a full scholarship, graduating as the top woman in her class.  And today, her work is recognized and supported by renowned individuals such as Dr. Oz, Robert Kennedy Jr., Ted Turner, Bonnie Raitt and Prince Charles.

Robyn serves on the Board of Directors of Healthy Child Healthy World and is on the advisory board of the Just Label It Campaign

And she firmly believe that while we can't change the beginning of our stories, we can change the end.  And hope is the knowledge that change is possible, even when it seems hard to imagine.
