I have been searching for some really effective biodegradable nappies for Lola as we have tried quite a few and most leak very badly. Big Green Smile sell the 'Beaming Babies' range so I ordered some of those. They are pretty good and we have had no major leaks so far with them, but with the previous ones I have tried, yep huge leaks! These nappies are not 100% chemical free, but are about 30% less than standard brands but are 65% biodegradable and much of the material are made from cornstarch. They seem comfortable for Lola and pretty good price too. They also stock the Bambo range of nappies too so you do have a choice at what nappies to try from Big Green Smile.
I also saw an unusual looking toothpaste, Dead Sea Spa Magik Fresh 'n' white Toothpaste which I wanted to try, it's from the Dead Sea Range which I am sure you have seen in chemists and health food stores. They use water from the dead sea which is full of minerals. The shape of the toothpaste interested me, have never seen one like that! (see below) The toothpaste is quite runny and goes a very long way, foams up so much and makes your teeth and mouth feel very fresh. It has a quite intensive minty taste and the teeth do look sparkly. I dont really think any toothpastes can whiten without harsh chemicals so dont expect to suddenly have a hollywood smile but it is a lovely toothpaste to use. The ingredients are pretty good over all except for the last one, the triclosan which is used as an antibactieral agent. I am not a big fan of using antibacterial things as we need to get a stronger immune system by being exposed to germs. But over all, its a pretty good product as there is no fluroide in here and no SLS's used as a foaming agent. I would use this again .
And, as I was looking for a toothpaste for me, I came across this ingenious product which is for babies and toddlers - its tooth and gum tissues that are made from 100% natural ingredients with zylitol as the sweetener. I will definitely be trying this when Lola's teeth start coming through.
There are so many things on here to purchase and I just noticed that you can buy professional sizes in eco cleaning products too. If you like to buy in bulk this woud be a great way to save!
