Waitrose is thought to be where smart shoppers go to purchase their food. They have lots of great organisations they support, the staff get a cut of the profits and it's just seen as a great supermarket compared to all the rest.
But sadly, something has happened just recently that is really not good. Their food is thought to be of a high quality and until now, as far as I know, they had no Genetically Modified foods in their stores.
This might be the case still, but for how long? Unfortunately, they dont seem too far off from selling GMO's because they are already selling a product that has direct ties to Monsanto - which as I am sure you know, is not exactly an ethical company. In fact, hundreds of thousands of articles have been written, and tests carried out on GMO foods and the findings are SO not good. Rats die, or develop brain tumours and its also just completely messing with nature. Monsanto also now own Aspartame which is a deadly sweetener.
So, basically most people in the know, want absolutely NOTHING to do with GMO's or Monsanto, or ANY COMPANY WHO IS IN BED WITH THEM.
So many of us are already outraged and have visited the Waitrose home page on facebook to voice our opinions. But guess what? So many of the comments are getting deleted or are met with poor replies from Waitrose PR. They are NOT handling this well at all, and are making excuses saying that 'its not GMO' so its basically ok to sell something that supports the biggest biotech company in the world who produce foods that are toxic and dangerous to animals and human health!

This company ideally want to own the entire worlds food supply....and if they get that far, it will only be because we have let them....
I am suggesting people boycott buying anything from Waitrose until they get the message loud and clear. If they don't hear us, then more and more products like this and eventual GMO products WILL be on our shelves in no time!
Please go to their facebook page, join it and voice your opinion! Big companies like this dont like bad PR they will do anything to make it go away so if we are loud enough, soon they will have no choice but to stop selling it!!
by the way, it has been reported at the Monsanto headquarters, they dont even sell GMO food to their staff......what does that say??
