Beauty In A Bar
These bars are absolutely delicious! No longer do you need to resort to eating unhealthy candy or chocolate bars when you need to satisfy those cravings.
Snack bars might not be the first thing you think of when considering your skin’s daily beauty regime, but then you probably haven’t discovered The Primal Pantry yet…
The Primal Pantry was set up to provide healthy snack bars for all the family, based on simple, tasty ingredients that are kept raw (no cooking) and simply pressed into a bar. Whilst great for your health in general, their selection of ingredients also means they’re the perfect way to keep your skin glowing from the inside out – as their Coconut & Macadamia Bar Proves.
The bar only contains five natural ingredients and each has a role to play in keeping your skin looking and feeling at its best.
Almond oil has a number of powerful benefits for the skin and is packed full of essential fatty acids, the good fats, which act as important building blocks for healthy skin. It also contains anti-oxidants, which help counter the effects of oxygen free radicals (one of the main culprits thought to be behind aging skin), vitamin E, famed as a skin care saviour, and magnesium, which may help counter some of the effects of stress hormones on the skin.
Macadamia nuts are particularly rich in palmitoleic acid, which has been seen to support healthy cell membranes, hydrates the skin and supports skin healing
Coconut oil might not only be good for your waistline, it also appears to have anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, helping soothe problem skin from the inside out.
Cashew nuts contain copper and an enzyme called tyrosinase, which helps in the production of melanin, which provides colour to skin and hair.
Dates not only add a natural sweetness to the bar, but can help maintain a healthy digestive system, which ultimately means healthier skin.
It’s not just what the bars have in them that makes them great for your skin however, it’s also what they ‘don’t’ contain. None of The Primal Pantry bars contain preservatives or colourings and there are no sulphites in the fruits they use (these are commonly used in dried fruits but people can be sensitive to them) – meaning your skin only has to deal with doing the job its meant to, protecting you against the environment, rather than dealing with toxins from the inside.
