I spent a lovely afternoon at this wonderful eco-friendly store in West London. After being open only a year, it certainly is shaping up to be the place to buy all things that are high quality and ultra green .
Situated on 213 Chiswick High Road, Chiswick, London visiting the store is an absolute pleasure. Chiswick is a lovely area with beautiful cafes and streets that really suit this Eco-friendly superstore.
I went today to mainly meet Livia the owner to introduce Lifescape magazine to her and also to check out the store and have a little look at the organic jeans that they were promoting today. They stock a few brands but the one that really took my eye were the brand Kuyichi who were the first brand to create organic high quality jeans. We have had this brand of jeans in Lifescape (current issue out now!) where I reviewed their skinny leg organic jeans. As my last pair of warn to death jeans had truly died, it was the perfect time to snap up some new ones as well support the organic industry trade.
With some great help on hand to get the perfect fit from Jo Jones who is the fashion editor of the observer, I chose the most comfortable and soft medium blue organic jeans I have ever seen. These are the ones I bought picture below.

They are actually a lot nicer in real life I think than this picture, not so slouchy looking, it doesn’t really do them justice at all. But thats ok, I would rather have jeans that look better in person than on the web. I cannot wait to wear these and am very happy I now have a pair of organic jeans and I hope people ask me where they are from so I can discuss the benefits and importance of not supporting the non-organic clothing trade!
I saw this T-shirt at London Fashion week and loved that some high fashion designers had specifically designed this t-shirt for the Environmental Justice Foundation who are doing such great work. Made from Organic Cotton all the proceeds from each shirt go to protecting the environment and supporting human rights. Did you know that children are being used to pick cotton from the farms? It’s a form of slavery and goes on at this very moment. For a good read, please visit the EJF website for further information on what is going on in the cotton trade. I picked up one of these and am looking forward to wearing it with my new jeans.
I had a brief chat with the gorgeous Livia who, being Italian, has that lovely warm vibe who gives you a genuine smile when she meets you.
The store is gorgeous, very eye catching and every aspect of it from floors to ceiling is created with the environment in mind.
The store is spread out over three floors with the ground floor for unusual products and unique gifts. I spotted some lovely stationary, solar powered lamps, laundry solutions and cute childrens soft animals. They have quite a selection of things for children. One thing I was very impressed with were specially made goodie bags for childrens parties!
On the basement floor is where the consultancy happens for designs in the home or office. With a wonderful range of Eco wallpaper and non toxic paint selection, as well as flooring, you could really create the most stunning environmentally sound home with their help. I spotted some wallpaper that was just beautiful, a mint green Roccoco embossed pattern. Gone are the days where Eco meant boring and plain!
The first floor is where all the fashion is. In a beautifully designed bright and sunny area (well today it was sunny!), they stock organic Jeans, sustainably made handbags, organic tops, shirts and lovely vegan shoes by beyond skin. Also there is a fabulous bookshelf with some of the best books on many different Green subjects.
I think Eco-Age is a fabulous concept store and I know I will look forward to visiting it again soon.
Do yourself a favor and go and have a look, I know you will be impressed!
Check out their website for a little taste!
