170 Filmmakers Team Up on Epic Sci-fi Film Set on an Earth Corrupted by GMOs in Queen of the Bees
A cast and crew of 170 passionate filmmakers have just wrapped up shooting on an epic sci-fi short film in the vein of Elysium (2013) and V for Vendetta (2006) called Queen of the Bees. Set 30 years in the future, the film offers a glimpse into a post-apocalyptic world corrupted by corporate greed and GMOs that may be closer to reality than science fiction
The filmmakers hope to raise public awareness of some of the most important issues facing mankind today including corporate greed and corruption, the increasing use of toxic chemicals in food production and the disappearance of honey bees around the world through this entertaining sci-fi drama due to hit festivals in 2014.
An amazing cast and crew of approximately 170 people all volunteered their time and expertise over the last five months to work on the film at 14 different locations around Melbourne. So far the production has been completely self-funded by Writer/ Director Joseph Russell and Producer Anna Russell but they are now calling on the public to help fund the crucial special effects stage of the project and help make Queen of the Bees the best film it can be.
