Eco Sunscreen – Protects Coral Reefs and Marine Life
Aethic Sôvée is an effective sunscreen that nurtures skin as it protects. The luxurious skin protecting formula uses three photo-stable sun filters, three organic moisturisers (beeswax, olive oil and coconut extract), skin nourishing antioxidant vitamin E and only food grade preservatives.
Rochelle Ballard, professional surfer says of Sôvée ” It smells good, feels good and works well. Now that I sampled it I’m actually missing it in my life. I really enjoy the smell and it isn’t too thick on the skin.”
Aethic Sovee sun screen uses only 100% coral safe ingredients tested in tropical and Mediterranean waters to be certified the worlds first Marine Positive (www.marinepositive.com) sunscreen. Sôvée sunscreen nourishes and nurtures your skin whilst you swim, allowing you to enjoy our beautiful coral seas, safely and responsibly.
Between 4,000-6,000 tonnes of standard formulation sunscreen is washed off swimmers every year in oceans worldwide, causing devastating damage to coral reefs.
Many resorts that depend on coral reefs have banned the use of sunscreens that are not bio-degradable. However, many of these biodegradable sunscreens, although they might dilute and disperse in water, still contain ingredients that can trigger a fatal virus in live coral which can decimate a reef.
According to the World Wide Fund for Nature, a quarter of the worlds coral reefs are at risk of collapse through human pressures, with 10% of all coral damage estimated to come from the use of standard sunscreens.
Founder and developer Allard Marx says “With Aethic, we have gone one step further, investing in a unique patent-pending eco-compatible formula, proven completely safe for both corals and clams. It’s a win-win for your skin and the oceans.”
The UK public spends around £250million per year on sun protection.
