TanOrganic, The First Ever Self-Tan To Be Listed By The Natural Beauty Bible

There was extremely stiff competition for this illustrious award and over 2,400 women tested for this particular edition. This is another massive achievement for TanOrganic in 2013, following up from a winning multiple beauty awards and securing a listing in Mothercare in Ireland, the first time that the retailer has listed a self-tan and testament to the natural and organic nature of the product.

When TanOrganic founder Noelle O’Connor first embarked on her mission to create a natural self-tan different from anything else on the market, she decided that she wanted a self-tan that was free from parabens, synthetic ingredients, artificial colours, perfumes and drying agents. She spent years working on a formula that was made completely from natural ingredients that could be used by everybody, regardless of their skin type. She wanted a product that would not only give a flawless finish, but also nourish and protect the skin and fade perfectly. This was achieved in 2010 when she launched TanOrganic self-tan and it has changed the face of self-tans for the better.

TanOrganic is the worlds first and only Eco-certified self-tanning brand, this was a huge acheivement and it took nearly 19 months to attain this prestigious certification. TanOrganic is also certified by PETA, The Organic Trust and the Ethical Company Organisation, so its not just about the ingredients that matter, its also about where and how they are produced. TanOrganic self-tan is Aloe Vera based so it is ultra-moisturising to the skin and there is no perfume added, ensuring no horrible burnt biscuit-like smell that is often associated with other self-tanning brands. The self-tan is also rich in Vitamin B5, which has potent moisturising & skin regenerating properties and helps to protect the epidermis from early stages of ultraviolet light damage which can cause premature ageing.

Being included in the Natural Beauty Bible is a landmark achievement for TanOrganic as the publication encompasses everything that Noelle O’Connor has strived to achieve with the brand. A few years back Jo Fairley and Sarah Stacey made it their mission to decode the cosmetic’s world, arranging products from good to bad through their book ‘The Green Beauty Bible’. They are releasing a new book the ‘Ultimate Natural Beauty Bible’ in March 2014, which will include TanOrganic and it will be the first time they have ever listed a self-tan. Over 2,400 women have tried and tested products for this book and it is an enormous achievement to make it into the pages. These testers have given their equitable honest opinions on an array of “greener” choices, with only the top products gaining entry into the publication.

TanOrganic Original is a completely natural self-tan so its ideal for health conscious people who care about what they put on their skin. Health conscious people are becoming more aware of the dangers of synthetic ingredients in cosmetics. A study conducted by the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public Health found that up to 64% of what we put on our skin could be absorbed into our bloodstream. The average woman directly applies more than 200 synthetic ingredients to her skin via personal care products each day with the skin soaking around 2kg of synthetic ingredients a year. When you look at these statistics, it makes you consider what exactly you are applying and absorbing on a daily basis.

We are thrilled to share the same values as the Natural Beauty Bible as we too care about what we put onto our skin and wish to make people more aware of the malevolent chemicals out there hidden in the cosmetics industry.

The Beauty Bible is the ideal place to seek the truth about products in the beauty industry. With over 2000 independent testers thoroughly examining products and sharing their opinion, it’s a great source of information about beauty products.
