Barefoot’s SOS Face & Body Rescue Cream was awarded the top prize in the FreeFrom Skincare Awards
The Face & Body Rescue Cream was also the winner of the Gold Award in the Hand and Body ‘Leave on’ category and the Face Care ‘Leave on’ category.
“We were absolutely thrilled to win three awards in this year’s FreeFrom Awards including the top prize for best overall product,” said Lindsay Dancaster, brand manager, First Natural Brands. “There was a lot deserving competition in this year’s Awards so we were pleased to have achieved such a great result.”
This was the second year of the FreeFrom Skincare Awards which were announced at the Allergy & FreeFrom Show, Olympia by beauty and holistic health guru Janey Lee Grace.
Product testing for the Awards involved a four stage judging process which culminated in a month-long assessment. The FreeFrom Skincare Awards recruited the testers from its associates, the Green Beauty Bible.
The FreeFrom Skincare Awards were founded to encourage and reward manufacturers of skincare products that are free from many of the allergens, chemicals, additives and artificial fragrances associated with skin sensitivities, allergies and health concerns.
The Awards are run by Michelle Berriedale-Johnson, editor of Foodsmatter.com and organiser of the FreeFrom Food Awards, and Alex Gazzola, deputy editor of Skinsmatter.com and a health writer specialising in allergies.
Speaking about the Awards Alex Gazzola, co-ordinator and co-founder of the Awards said: “We’re delighted such a wide range of brands and products have been recognised in these awards, as it demonstrates the depth in high-quality ‘free from’ skincare now available.
“While some larger brands such as Neal’s Yard Remedies and Green People did very well, it was particularly exciting to see a clutch of smaller and niche brands performing so strongly in the individual product categories, taking most of the top ‘medal’ spots.”
